Craigslist is notorious for its strange, and often, inappropriate user-generated ads. Hurricane Sandy provided no exception.
In addition to listings for found pets and ads offering free construction services, there were a lot of weird postings.
The ads range from endearing "missed connections" created in the chaos of Sandy to offers of gas in exchange for a "casual encounter."
Some Craigslisters have decided to take advantage of the Northeast gas shortage by charging $20 for a gallon of gas instead of its $4 price tag.
These state-of-the-art "storm finding binoculars" for $299 (or best offer) appealed to those who didn't trust Weather.com's storm coverage.

Another tempting buy: a specially branded hurricane mop.

A nudist looking to pass time during the storm was on the hunt for a "hurricane snuggle bunny."

The ad, which has since been erased, read:
Male Nudist Seeking Female Hurricane Snuggle Bunny – m4w – 59 (Upper West Side)
59 year old nudist who loves snuggling would love to have a voyeur snuggle friend to ride out the storm with. Photo upon request.
